STAT 332 (1995 curriculum)

Statistics 332 (in the 1990s) was taught in forty-eight 50 minute classes (ofen in two 2-hour time slots per week);   thirteen classes were used for `tutorials', which students worked on in groups of three and submitted their answers for grading at the end of class.   The other thirty-five classes were used to cover the course material and (at the instructor's discretion) for two or three videos about survey sampling.

Stat 332 was one of four required 300-level statistics courses required for the Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Honours Statistics. Its statistical prerequisite was STAT 231.

For many years, Stat 332 was offered in the Fall and Spring terms of each academic year.

The usual text (when available) for the course was Elements of Sampling Theory by Vic Barnett, The English Universities Press Ltd., London, 1974, ISBN 0-340-17387-4. The later version of this text was SAMPLE SURVEY Principles & Methods, Edward Arnold, London, 1974, ISBN 0-340-54553-4.
