AMATH/PMATH 331 Applied Real Analysis, Fall 2025
The AMATH/PMATH 331 final examination will be held on
Friday December 12th, from 9:00-11:30 am, in PAC 10 (upstairs).
The test will contain about 5 questions, each with about 2 or 3 parts.
It will cover the material from Chap 1 (pg 1-10), Chap 3 (pg 1-6),
Chap 4 (pg 1-14), Chap 5 (pg 1-10), Chap 6 (pg 1-10), and Chap 7 (pg 1-8)
with the relevant accompanying exercises, and all the assignments,
with some emphasis on the material covered after the midterm test.
In addition to knowing how to solve all assignment questions,
you should know the statements of all definitions and theorems,
and you should know the proofs of the following 5 theorems:
Theorem 1.38 (The Intermediate Value Theorem)
Theorem 4.48 (Closure and Limit Points)
Theorem 5.29 (The Topological Characterization of Continuity)
Theorem 6.21 (Compact Sets are Closed and Bounded)
Theorem 7.3   (The Banach Fixed-Point Theorem)
