  If you are working on a linux machine (e.g. in the calclab), you will have to make the dfield.jar file executable before you can run it. This can be done by: (1) Opening a terminal window and changing to the directory in which you stored the dfield.jar file, (2) typing ``chmod +x dfield.jar'' (without the quotes) and hitting enter. The file is now executable. To run the program, open the directory containing the file, right click the dfield.jar icon, and select "Open with Java 7 (or 8) Runtime."
