The winter/99 final exam is based on Chapter 1 and on Sections: 2.1,
2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 5.1, 5.2, and on the class notes.

There will be at least one question that deals directly 
with a question from the homework problems and another that deals with
problems from the text.

There will be several practical questions that will test the knowledge
of the steepest descent and Newton methods; as well as the use of
the various
optimality conditions for constrained and unconstrained programs.

Other questions will deal with the theory developed in the course.
