Sept. 25
  • Assignment 1 has been marked and will be returned in class on Friday, Sept 26.

    Corrections to the marking (for assignments and/or midterms) will only be considered for a two week period following the return of the assignment/midterm.

Sept. 22
  • Assignments are due by 9:30AM on the due date. They are to be put into DROP BOX 3, SLOT 1, MC 3rd floor, near the elevator next to the tunnel to the Davis building.

Sept. 15
  • ACE - with a FORUM

    ACE now has co370/cm443, i.e. you can login there and have access to the forum where you can have discussions and form project groups.

  • Midterm Conflicts?

    Due to conflicts with other exams, it has been suggested to move the midterm date to Friday Oct. 17, 7-9pm
    (make-up Oct. 17, 5-7pm - only if a conflict exists)

    This has been done -- the new date is on the syllabus webpage.

  • Project Groups:
    Please form project groups of 3 ASAP and send me your names/student ids. Also, please decide on a project ASAP and come see me with the title and a description. (Alternatively, come see me about finding a project subject.)

Sept. 10

Midterm:

A tentative time for the midterm is Oct. 15, Wed. 7-9pm
(make-up Oct. 15, 5-7pm - only if a conflict exists)

Sept. 8

The book:

Title: AMPL: A modeling language for mathematical programming.

has been recalled and it will go on (3 hour) reserve for CO 370 once it is arrives.

Sept. 8

For the project you will require the full AMPL version that is installed on the student.math UNIX machines. If you are new to UNIX, here are links to a couple of sites that have a basic fact-sheet for UNIX (many more links can be found by typing "Unix primer" or "Unix tutorial" in Google): www.ks.uiuc.edu/Training/Tutorials/Reference/unixprimer.html, and http://genetics.med.harvard.edu/~depalma/unixPrimer.html.
