The (winter/97) final will have 5 questions. 

There will be at least one question that deals directly 
with a question from the homework problems.
In addition, there will be at least one question that deals directly
with a problem from the text.

The questions:
   1 on convexity (functions and sets)
   1 on Lagrangian duality
   1 on barrier and penalty functions
   1 on KKT conditions
   1 on unconstrained optimization, i.e. steepest descent, Newton,
                             Gauss-Newton methods
