Dear Colleagues,

               The UW-Fields committee would like to bring to your attention
the fact that Faculty members may nominate an outstanding candidate as a
UW-Fields Postdoctoral Fellow for consideration by the committee. This is a
one year appointment - the successful candidate would be designated  a
"UW-Fields Postdoctoral Fellow" and partially funded by the Fields Institute
($25000), the remainder of the postdoctoral stipend would be provided from
the research funds of the nominating Faculty member as well as from Teaching
Assistantships.
               The UW-Fields committee is accepting nominations in January
from the respective departments during the years indicated as follows:

1) Applied Math (2008)
2) Stats & Act. Sci. (2009)
3) Computer Sci. (2010)
4) C&O (2011)
5) Pure Math (2012)

   Thus, nominations from Faculty members in Applied Math are requested
immediately. Please provide in the first instance, a letter of nomination
for the candidate,a CV for the candidate and a statement of how much funding
will be provided by the nominator.
