Happy years in Groningen and Rotterdam

Abstract:
On the occasion that the optimization community grieves over the sudden 
loss of a young and extraordinary talent in the field, I shall recall 
some of the happy moments that Jos and I spent together at  Department 
of Econometrics, University of Groningen (1992 -- 1993), and Econometric 
Institute, Erasmus University Rotterdam (1993 -- 1997), where he 
completed his master's thesis and the Ph.D dissertation, respectively, 
on interior point methods. Some of our joint work during these years 
helped shaping the foundations of his famous SDP solver, SeDuMi.
