NEWSFLASH: Office hours for the exam period include the
usual time below and the Monday lecture timeslot (11:30-12:20). On
the Monday before the exam I will also have a office hour from 2:30-3:20.
My office hour is Friday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. This is
by appointment only. I have attempted in the past trying to
help everyone who comes to an office hour simultaneously. It does
not work well, because the person who is most aggressive gets most of the
help. Your appointment is your guarantee of individual attention.
If you wish to see me during my weekly office hour please let me know before
3:30 pm each Thursday. I would much prefer that
you not e-mail me as I have a very strong spam filter on my
e-mail. Many of my e-mails are deleted before I can read them.
If you cannot contact me any other way than e-mail then please make sure
of the following:
1. You only e-mail me from a valid university e-mail account.
(This is for your security as well as well as for my spam filter.)
Please do not use hotmail or yahoo accounts etc.
2. Include Math 147 in the subject heading.
If I receive your e-mail, then I will reply to confirm your appointment.
You will find my e-mail address listed in the Statistics and Act. Sc. Department
directory, or on my contact page linked from my home page.
A safer way to contact me is to leave your name and desired Friday date
on my sign-up sheet on my office door (MC 6013A).
Please, if you cannot come to an appointment, let me know. If you
simply do not show up, I will be wary about making a second appointment.
