Curriculum Vitae

S Troscheit I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo working with Kathryn Hare and Kevin Hare. I completed my PhD at the University of St Andrews in April 2017 under the supervision of Kenneth Falconer and Mike Todd. I am interested in random fractal geometry, symbolic dynamics, dimension theory, and their interplay with number theory.

From February 2014 to December 2016 I was organiser of PPS (Pure Postgraduate Seminars), a series of seminars – as the name suggests – for pure mathematics postgraduate students at the University of St Andrews. The schedule for which can still be accessed by the PPS link above.

Other interests include formal logic, philosophy and set theory. I am an active long distance sailor (mostly single-handed) and have sailed most of the British, German, Dutch, Belgian and French Atlantic coast with several North Sea crossings. I am a radio amateur with full UK license and am a SCUBA dive instructor and keen technical diver.
