The purpose of this conference is to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Professor Mary Thompson who officially retired from the University of Waterloo in the summer 2010. Through her 40+ year career, Professor Thompson has made important contributions to several areas in statistics, including stochastic processes, survey sampling, estimating equations, biostatistics, and aspects on foundations for statistical inferences.

This conference is an opportunity to celebrate these achievements and the impact Professor Thompson has had on the discipline of statistics, her students and colleagues, the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo, and the statistical communities through her vision and leadership. The conference will be held at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario on October 28 & 29, 2011. An opening cocktail reception will be held on the evening of October 27 and a banquet on the evening of October 28. Please see the program for further details.
