Ian McGee has taught on the campus of the University of Waterloo for many years. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Applied Mathematics Department, and at various times, has been chairman of this department, and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the Faculty of Mathematics. He received his B. A. Sc. from the University of Toronto in Engineering Physics, his M. Sc. from the University of Waterloo in Applied Mathematics, and his Ph.D. from Yale in Theoretical Physics. His recent interests include undergraduate course development using the computer manipulation system MAPLE, and chairing one of the Committees involved with preparation of the Canadian High School Mathematics Contests.
He retired at the end of August 1996, at which time he was appointed an Adjunct Professor, which means he is eligible to teach a few courses from time to time.
