Take a train from Princeton to Penn Station, New York. >From there take A,C or E subway downtown to W. 4th St. If you exit from the north end of station (rear of the train) you'll find yourself on Waverly Pl and 6th Ave and you can walk one block east (turn logically left) to the Wash Sq Hotel where you can leave your stuff, even if the room isn't ready yet. The hotel is on the NW corner of Wash Sq Park. To get to Courant, walk diagonally across the park to the SE corner, and one more block east. Warren Weaver Hall, where we are, is directly ahead of you on the right, and you can enter it by going up the stairs onto Gould Plaza. I am on the 5th floor, Rm 529, ext 83121. What time will you arrive? > > ---------------------------------- > Any suggestions on what to work on Thursday? > I could give you a preview of what I will talk about and some of the work > I have been doing with SDP - I think it is interesting and a bit > surprising! That sounds good. My former student Madhu will be here, and so will our postdoc Mitu Fukuda (Kojima's former student). They are also eager to meet you and hear what you are doing. Also a student Zhengji Zhao. > Is there an obvious overlap between the two subjects? Do you have a > current report to look at? > e.g. robust stability and pseudospectra? I have not studied pseudospectra > before. We have lots of papers on my web page, but I can tell you when you get here. Things are very different in the nonsymmetric case. Gene Golub will also be here as you know from all the emails. It will be a lot of fun. See you on the 20th - let me know the time. Michael
