Life as a Female Mathematician:

Graduate Studies and Beyond

Dinner and Panel Discussion - Thursday July 8, 2010 6pm - 8pm

Join fellow women in math for dinner, a panel discussion about life as a female mathematician, and conversation with other women in math.

Our panelists are successful women with graduate degrees in mathematics, at various stages in their careers. This is your chance to ask them what it's like being a woman in a male dominated profession! What are the challenges and rewards of the academic and career paths they have chosen?

There is no charge for this event, but registration is required by June 30. To register, simply send an e-mail including your name to Stephanie Evers <severs@math.uwaterloo.ca>, letting her know you would like to attend. Space is limited, so register early!

The event will be held in MC 5158 of the University of Waterloo campus.

Our Panelists:

Rachel Kuske, Ph.D., Professor of Mathematics, UBC

Anisoara Nica, Ph.D., Research&Development SQL Anywhere, Sybase

Veronika Shelestunova, Ph.D., Technology Inventory Analyst, RBC Capital Markets Technology

Kathleen Wilkie, MMath, Ph.D. Candidate in Applied Mathematics, UW
