The Mathematics/Teaching
program is an integrated co-operative plan offered jointly by the Faculty of Mathematics
at the University of Waterloo and the Faculty of Education at Queen's
University. You may add the Mathematics/Teaching to any plan within
the Faculty of Mathematics, with the exception of accountancy studies,
business administration (Laurier) and Mathematics (Waterloo) double degree,
and software engineering.
The option will qualify you as an Ontario secondary
school teacher. You will graduate with a Bachelor of Mathematics or Bachelor of Computer Science from Waterloo
and a Bachelor of Education from Queen's.
The program includes work terms alternating with academic terms at
Waterloo, along with an unpaid teaching internship and practicum at Queen's.
In third year, you'll move to Queen's for eight months to learn about curriculum,
classroom cultures and structures, professional development, and equity.
