Mathematics/English Language for Academic Studies [Math/ELAS]

On your way to full-time degree status and your First Year!

Congratulations and welcome to the Faculty of Mathematics English Language for Academic Studies - Math/ELAS!

If your academic background indicates that you have the potential to do very well in a mathematics or computer science, but, your English language test score is below our minimum requirments, then you can automatically be considered for an alternative Offer of Admission to our Math/English Language for Academic Studies - Math/ELAS program.

The Math Faculty works in partnership with Conestoga College in delivering this program to promising mathematics students, who require help with their English skills, before going into a math or cs degree studies. Through our Math/ELAS program, you will improve your English language skills, to meet our English language admission requirements, and this will greatly increase your chances for success at university.

Successful completion of the Math/ELAS program [Level 4 = 1 term/4 months] qualifies you for full-time regular studies in the Faculty of Mathematics and Cheriton School of Computer Science. The faculty and staff are committed to assist you to have an enriching, rewarding, and professional experience, now through graduation.

You will find your time here to be one of the most rewarding periods of your life - where you are learning new things, experimenting with new ideas and making new friends.

The International Students Office (ISO) is another valuable information centre and provides a range of services. They can help you with immigration concerns, other resources and help you adjust to life in Canada.
