Computational Mathematics at the University of Waterloo is a new initiative within the Faculty of Mathematics, which reaches out to the entire University and beyond, to those people, organizations, and institutions where opportunities for the application and the development of computational mathematics exist.
The Computational Mathematics initiative is two-pronged.
First there is the innovative undergraduate program in Computational Mathematics. Prospective students, high school teachers and counsellors should explore the Computational Mathematics Program through the Prospective Students area of this website. If you are already in the Computational Mathematics program, or simply an undergraduate U(W) student who is considering switching to Comp Math, then the Current Students area is for you.
With over 40 faculty members affiliated with the Centre for Computational Mathematics in Industry and Commerce, the second prong is the promotion of research in all areas of Computational Mathematics. Visit the Centre for information on its organization, mission and people. Visit Research to get an overview of the research interests of our members and to explore opportunities for research collaboration and consultation.
As part of our outreach, high school teachers might appreciate receiving some of our posters and other promotional literature, or perhaps would be interested in arranging a visit to campus. Other organizations might be interested in having one or more of our faculty visit to explore possibilities for consultation and collaboration.
