Folders for undergraduate students who sign in to windows.student.math.uwaterloo.ca and the PC labs
What is happening?
The folder redirection setting for undergraduate students will be changed so only the Documents folder will be redirected to the file server files.student.math.uwaterloo.ca. The Desktop and AppData folders will no longer be redirected to the file server. This applies when signing in to windows.student.math.uwaterloo.ca and the labs with Windows desktop computers (Finance Lab, Bloomberg terminals).
New GPU server available
A new high-end GPU server is ready for use. It offers four NVIDIA H100 GPUs and a terabyte of memory. As mentioned in our Winter 2024 newsletter, we invite your inquiries about machine-learning and high-performance computing using this system. Please open a ticket to contact us.
Issues connecting to the print server using the alias
This issue has been fixed as of March 26 at approximately 14:00.
Connections to the print server using the alias, print.math.private.uwaterloo.ca, have stopped working.
You can still connect using the real name, mapprint01.math.private.uwaterloo.ca.
